Changing names
Haven’t posted a updates in a while!
I will be changing my website name to a new name! this is because this name resembles another indie studio very much and I like to be a little bit more unique!
And my plans are to create one website for my portfolio and blog in one!
Progress Engine
So i have decided to create my own math library for my engine. Some people might ask why create your own when there are tons of other good and well established libraries!?
1.) I think it’s fun
2.) It allows me to learn the in and outs of math used in games, this allows me to create more immersion in my games!
3.) I am crazy duhh….
So these are the statistics of my project thus far, haven’t been able to work much on the engine, but I hope I can do alot more from now on!
Next up are textures and lighting!
02.9.12First article!
I have finished my first tutorial, it’s about the management of your C++ project in visual studio 2010!
You can download it in PDF format from here http://www.wildshade.com/Files/Project-Structuring-v1.0.pdf
I have also started to work on my engine again, hurraaayyyy!!!
More from me in ze future! (hopefully)

New semester
Finally my most recent school project finished today! (not totally, we need to finish some work)
Now the best part is I heard some of my classmates said they read my blog!!! and they said that they like to see more technicall stuff instead of the usual chit chat!
I think this is a very good idea (I was planning it though), so from now on I will focus more on the technical side of things I am working on!
As most of my classmates need to study for some exams, I have done those exams already and so can focus on some articles/tutorials.
I have started android game development and I want to create some tutorials for that!
Most tutorials will be as generic as possible, so that you can use the tutorial for game development in other enviroments.
Android developer!
I have decided to develop for android and so registered for a developer account!
At college we were needed to research and development an android application, I liked it so much that decided to become an android developer.
I have 2 pieces of android hardware that will help me, my Nexus one and a Galaxy tab 10.1, it has always crossed my mind to start developing for the android but I hadn’t start it until now.
Been a while
It’s been a while since I made any posts to my blog!
Been rather busy with school and real life! My son growing really well!
Currently I am working on a school project where we have to simulate the harbor of rotterdam! it’s a fun project to work on!
I am going to continue with my OpenGL project in the vacation! You’ll be hearing from me.
Busy Busy but time for Games!
Been busy with school in the past week! It’s finally over and now it’s time again for my girlfriend, and baby son!!
And ofcourse games and programming!
I have bought Skyrim yesterday but haven’t been able to play it because I need to activate it through steam, well it’s almost release time!
Rayman 2 and 3 cought my eye! so I bought those too for inspiration and movitation for creating my own platform game engine!
Update
I have finally added my “goals” page, I named it engine, it contains the features I want to implement in the future and it’s W.I.P!
I wanted to share this awesome blogpost http://tower22.blogspot.com/2011/11/in-control.html ! the question list at the bottom is awesome.
I have a dream!!
I have a dream! this is what keeps most people motivated … dreaming, it allows you to set more clear goals and opens paths to your destination.
As I have written in my first post; I like 3D platform games alot, games like Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank, Jack and Dexter, etc…
My goal is to create an engine in C++ with OpenGL that allows me to create my dream worlds in an interactive gaming enviroment like the games I mentioned above.
This week I will create a Goal page that sums up the things I want to create and put in my game engine that allows me to create a 3D platform game!
3D platformer allow you to explore an adventurous world, collect awesome items for points or other stuff, fight enemies in a cool way and solve awesome puzzles!
I will be handling a top down approuch, first I will be researching all topics that are going to be involved I know this is a BIG BIG BIG field but the reason I am doing it all from the ground up is because I am a GEEK!
I love to know how things work from the ground up and I want to improve my 3D Math and Game development skills.
Example from an English guy that created an engine with his own platform game:
3D platform game in C++ and OpenGL
Another Example of what my definition of 3D platformer is:
